Jcrew Broken In Chino Shorts

J. Crew : Aesthetics and Presentation

J. Crew has seen quite the transformation in the past few years. Once being known as a purveyor of go-to staples like sweaters, and chinos, they've since redefined themselves as a producer of ruggedly elegant, thoughtfully-designed pieces for the modern man. From chambray shirts, chunky sweaters, selvedge denim, and the recently released higher-end line, Wallace & Barnes, it's pretty clear the New York-based company has stepped up their game by leaps and bounds.

In the latest installment of our Cut & Show series, we visited some of their specialty men's stores: the Liquor Store in Tribeca, the Men's Shop on the Upper East Side, and the flagship store in Flatiron, to learn a little more about the brand's evolution. We also got Creative Director Jenna Lyons and Head of Men's Design Frank Muytjens to talk about how J. Crew makes it more comfortable for guys to shop, the way the stores combine a location's history with its products to tell a story, and how important context is to style.
